Percussion Group
Cincinnati to Play at Boise State
Percussion Group Cincinnati will perform
at 8 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Student Union Special Events Center. The performance
is part of the Classic Performance Series. Tickets are $10 general, $5 for
Boise State students, faculty, staff, alumni, students younger than 17 and
seniors.
Percussion Group Cincinnati is made up of Allen Otte, James Culley and
Russell Burge, who are faculty members at the College Conservatory of Music
at the University of Cincinnati. Their chamber concert will include
classics, new music inspired by Cage, Reich, Harrison and Rzewski, and
unique pieces written for the group by young composers from America, Africa
and China.
The ensemble was formed in 1979 and is the ensemble-in-residence at the
College Conservatory of Music. They have played around the world, including
stops in Shanghai, Japan, Hong Kong, and at major cities, festivals, concert
halls and schools in America. They have presented a program, “Music from
Scratch” to schoolchildren all over the United States.
