EXHIBITIONS
Through Dec. 7: “Claudio Beagarie Exhibition.” Beagarie’s work, a photographic record of the migrant labor movement, is shown in the Student Union Gallery. 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Friday. Free. Call 426-4636.

SUNDAY, DEC. 4
Holiday Family Concert. Morrison Center Main Hall. 7:30 p.m. This event will feature performances by the Boise State Flute Choir, the Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, the University Choirs, the Faculty Brass Ensemble and the University Symphony Orchestra.

TUESDAY, DEC. 6
Holiday Choral Concert. Cathedral of the Rockies, 11th and Hays, Boise. 7:30 p.m. This year’s concert will include a performance of Bach’s Magnificat, traditional carols, and the fifth annual Meistersingers silent auction. $5; $3 for Boise State faculty, staff and students. WEDNESDAY, DEC. 7
Literature for Lunch. Boise Public Library, 715 S. Capitol Blvd. 12:10-1 p.m. The public is invited to attend this discussion of Jamaica Kincaid’s Lucy, an account of the difficulties of a West Indian girl in New York. Free. Call 426-1179 or 426-1233.

Workshop on Urban Sprawl. Student Union Lookout Room. 6-7:30 p.m. Jim Heid of UrbanGreen will present “Managing Our Quality of Life: Determining How and Where We Grow,” the first of a three-part monthly series bringing nationally recognized speakers to campus to address topics of pressing regional concern. Hosted by the Boise State Institute for Urban and Regional Planning and the Idaho District Council of the Urban Land Institute. Free. Call 426-3776.

THURSDAY, DEC. 8
Roundtable Discussion Series. Cultural Center. Noon. Boise State professors Virginia Husting and David Hall will present, “White Privilege: How to Recognize it and Use it to be a Strong Ally.” Free. Sponsored by the Cultural Center. Call 426-5950.

Silent Art Auction. PAAW Building (the old Campus School at the corner of University Dr. and Brady St.). 6-9 p.m. Auction of Boise State student paintings to benefit the Southwest Chapter of the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho. FRIDAY, DEC. 9
Theatre Arts Department Student Dance Concert. Morrison Center Stage II. 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 and 2 p.m. Dec. 10. This year’s concert, SKCUS YTILEAR, is the culmination of months of student work, and will feature dances choreographed and performed by students. $5; $3 for Boise State faculty, staff and students. “The Nutcracker.” Morrison Center Main Hall. 8 p.m. Dec. 9; 2 and 8 p.m. Dec. 10; 2 p.m. Dec. 11. This performance, presented by Ballet Idaho, will feature the Opera Idaho Children’s Chorus and the Boise Philharmonic. $9-$42. Call 426-1766 for ticket information.

SATURDAY, DEC, 10
“Holidays Around the World.” Student Union Jordan Ballroom. 10 a.m. The Boise State Cultural Center invites the Boise State community and the public to take part in “Holidays Around the World.” In this free event, participants will be exposed to a range of multicultural holiday traditions through performances, craft projects, games and refreshments. Clay and Fire Ceramics Exhibition and Sale. Liberal Arts Building Gallery I. The annual Clay and Fire sale, Dec. 10-12, is an opportunity to purchase functional and sculptural ceramic works of art by students, faculty, alumni and regional artists. A portion of the proceeds from the event will help fund the Visiting Artist Program in Ceramics at Boise State. Call 426-3994.

Elektric Havoc Concert. Morrison Center Stage II. 7:30 p.m. Elektric Havoc, a product of the Boise State Music Department’s rock music class, will feature music by Yes, Ruch, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Moody Blues, Left Banke, Renaissance, Kansas, Alice Cooper and Genesis. $5; $3 for Boise State faculty, staff and students. TUESDAY, DEC. 13
Glenn Beck’s Christmas Tour. Morrison Center. 7:30 p.m. Radio personality Glenn Beck will capture the spirit of Christmas in this one-man stage performance. $26.50 and $21.50 at Select-a-Seat outlets. Call 426-1766.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 14
Angel Tree Drive. Donate gifts to needy kids in support of the Salvation Army Angel Tree Drive. Presents may be left at designated points across campus for collection by Volunteer Services Board. FRIDAY, DEC. 16
Women That Rock. REC Climbing Wall. 7-9:45 p.m. This women-only climbing session is designed for climbers of all experience. Fee includes instruction and equipment rental. Climbers with demonstrable experience may climb free of charge. $5. Call 426-1946.
