Two Boise State Profs Named Fellows in Canadian Studies
Program
The Pacific Northwest Canadian Studies Consortium and the Canadian Consulate
General Seattle have named two faculty members from Boise State University�s
College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs as fellows.
Susan Mason, political science, and John Ziker, anthropology, were selected
to participate in the 2006 International Canadian Studies Institute,
scheduled for July 18-30 in British Columbia and the Yukon. Twelve fellows
were selected from U.S. member universities, and one was selected from an
Alberta institution.
The program, a multi-disciplinary institute for university professors and
Ph.D. candidates, is aimed at promoting the development of Canadian Studies
programs at Pacific Northwest universities, and enhancing cooperation and
information sharing among existing programs. Boise State is among 32
universities and colleges in the consortium, which includes Alaska, Idaho,
Oregon and Washington, as well as the Yukon, Alberta and British Columbia.
