Five Boise State University faculty members were honored with College of
Social Sciences and Public Affairs Awards at a Jan. 11 college meeting. The
second annual awards recognize full-time and part-time teachers in the areas
of teaching, research and service.

Winners were:
-Tenured Teaching Award: Laurel Traynowicz, associate professor, Department
of -Communication
-Tenured Research Award: Todd Shallat, professor, Department of History
-Tenured Service Award: William H. Whitaker, professor and MSW coordinator,
School of Social Work
-Tenure-track Award: Lisa Brady, assistant professor, Department of History
-Adjunct Award: Jeffrey Stoppenhagen, Department of Communication
The purpose of the awards program is to honor faculty members in the College
of Social Sciences and Public Affairs who are doing outstanding work.
Winners, chosen by a committee, each received a $1,000 cash award and
inclusion on the college �Wall of Fame.�
