Public Invited to View ‘Rings and Things’ Through Powerful
Telescopes March 3 and 10 at Boise State
Treasure Valley residents are invited to view the night sky through powerful
telescopes as part of “Rings and Things” starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March
3, and again at the same time on Friday, March 10, at Boise State
University.
The observation session will be held on the roof of the Education Building,
located just east of the Morrison Center. Take the elevator to the seventh
floor and the stairs to the roof. Pay parking is available at the parking
structure on Brady Street and University Drive.
Boise State faculty and members of the Black Holez astronomy club will be on
hand to answer questions. Admission is free, although a $2 donation for
non-students and a $1 donation is encouraged to help raise money for the
purchase of new telescopes.
Saturn, Jupiter, the Ring Nebula and other deep-sky objects will be visible.
If inclement weather forces cancellation of the event, signs will be posted
at the entrance to the Education Building. Patrons can also call the INFO
Desk at 426-4636 to find out if the event will be held.
For more information about “Rings and Things,” call 841-5401.
