Conference at BSU to Focus on Environmental Health
Indoor air quality, water quality, child care regulations and epidemiology
training are just a few of the topics to be discussed at the Idaho
Environmental Health Association conference, March 15-17 at the Boise State
Student Union. March 16 will be Idaho Public Health Association Day. IPHA is
the professional organization for Boise State’s master of health science and
public health programs.
IPHA Day topics include: “Planning for Health: The Built Environment —
Impact and Best Practices for Health”; “The Effect of Smoking Bans on
Myocardial Infarctions: The Boise Experience”; “Community Action for Health:
Health Families, Active Youth”; and “Application of GIS Statistical Tools in
Public Health.”
Other conference sessions will look at pesticides, children’s environmental
health, Epi-Ready, 2005 Idaho risk factors, and natural disaster management
lessons learned from hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
