TUESDAY, MARCH 14
First Aid and CPR Training. Student Union Brink Room. 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
This class is open to Boise State students, faculty, and staff. $45

SPB Films: "Memoirs of a Geisha."
Special Events Center. 2:30 and 7 p.m. Join the student programs board for a

Solo Night. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. The University
Singers present a program of American folk songs with many solo and duet

Career Fair. Student Union Jordan Ballroom, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This annual
event is intended for all students seeking internships, full-time, part-time

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15
Literature for Lunch. Log Cabin Literary Center. Noon-1:10 p.m. The
public is invited to attend this discussion of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s
Purple Hibiscus, an account of a 15-year-old Nigerian girl’s life in a
country ravaged by political strife and personal struggle. Free. Call

Women’s History Month: “Women From the 116th Speak.” Student Union
Jordan Ballroom. 7 p.m. Female members of the Idaho National Guard speak

THURSDAY, MARCH 16
Women’s History Month: Hadani Ditmars Lecture. Special Events Center.
7 p.m. Ditmars, an international journalist and author of “Dancing in the No
Fly Zone: a Woman’s Journey Through Iraq,” delivers the keynote address for

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Kinesiology Building, Room 216.

consciously and systematically work out the stress, pain and challenges of

“Vox Angelis.” Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. The Boise
State Women’s Chorus, conducted by James Berry, performs choral music from
throughout the ages, including a set of works by Spanish and Latin American

Women That Rock. Student Recreation Center Climbing Gym. 7-9:45 p.m.
This women-only climbing session is designed for climbers of all experience
levels. Fee includes instruction and equipment rental. Climbers of

Boise Philharmonic Presents Vassily Primakov. Morrison Center Main
Hall. 8:15 p.m. The Boise Philharmonic, accompanied by Russian pianist
Vassily Primakov, performs Schumann’s piano concerto, Boyce’s Symphony No. 5

to the guitar features duos and trios by J.S. Bach, Fernando Sor and

Women’s History Month: Vicki Shaw. Special Events Center. 8 p.m.
Seasoned comedian Vicki Shaw addresses the triumphs and trials of being a

Cesar Chavez Awareness Week. The Boise State University Cultural
Center invites all members of the campus community to participate in a week
of awareness and education about human rights leader Cesar Chavez, March

Cesar Chavez Awareness Week: “La Causa.” Special Events Center. 1
p.m. This interactive film/play by Living Voices is set primarily in
California, and examines how the boycott movement became an effective tool
in the fight for civil rights. Presented by the Boise State Cultural Center.

Diverse Perspectives Film Screening. Student Union Jordan Ballroom.
5:30 p.m. The Diverse Perspectives Film Series, offered on the third Tuesday
of each month, examines diversity through a range of films. This month’s
feature, “Trudell” combines images and archival footage to trace the life of
Native American activist and poet John Trudell. Co-sponsored by the Boise
State Women’s Center, the Cultural Center, Student Activities, Idaho Public
Television and the Independent Television Service. Free. Call 426-1223.

Cesar Chavez Awareness Week: “The Fight in the Fields: Cesar Chavez and
the Farmworkers’ Struggle.” The Cultural Center. 4 p.m. This compelling
film explores the history of the agricultural labor movement through a

BSU West Diverse Perspectives Film Screening. Boise State West Campus
Second Floor Lobby. 5:30 p.m. The Diverse Perspectives Film Series, offered

Kickstart Seminar. Student Union Building. 7:45 a.m.-5 p.m. Kickstart
is a day of workshops and activities designed to bring Idaho’s resources for
entrepreneurs together in one place. The keynote speaker for this year’s
event is Bo Peabody at 7 p.m. March 23 at the Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main
Street, Boise. Peabody is co-founder and managing general partner of Village
Ventures, and the author of Lucky or Smart: Secrets to an Entrepreneurial
