Boise State Students Win at Business
Professionals Conference, Advance to Nationals
Ten Boise State University students in the Selland College of Applied
Technology competed at the state Business Professionals of America
conference on March 3 at Boise State, and seven will advance to the national
competition.
The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the
preparation of a world-class work force through the advancement of
leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills. Business
technology instructor Darien Hartman serves as adviser to Boise State’s BPA
chapter.
Boise State’s winners are as follows:
— Jennifer Lutke, LaGrande, Ore., first place, Financial Math & Analysis;
fourth place, Fundamental Word Processing Skills (national qualifier)
— Priscilla Manning, Nampa, seventh, Integrated Office Applications;
seventh, Database Applications
— Danijela Matrak, Boise, seventh place, Banking and Finance; sixth place,
Human Resource Management
— Cassandra Myers, Boise, first place, Integrated Office Applications;
second place, Database Applications; third place, Fundamental Word
Processing Skills (national qualifier)
— Tony Pfost, Meridian, ninth, Integrated Office Applications; ninth,
Database Applications; eighth, Computer Network Technology
— Amanda (Mandy) Robbins, Boise, seventh place, Legal Office Procedures
(national qualifier)
— Lindsey Solterbeck, Boise, first place, Fundamental Word Processing
Skills; first place, Administrative Support Concepts; second place,
Integrated Office Applications; fourth place, Database Applications
(national qualifier)
— Sara Strawn, Pocatello, first place, Legal Office; fourth place, Advanced
Interview Skills (national qualifier)
— Megan Tafoya and Kelli Tafoya, Nampa, first place, Economic Research-Team
(national qualifier)
