Boise State Student Organizations Awards Ceremony to Honor Outstanding Work

The Associated Students of Boise State University (ASBSU) and the Student Activities Office will host the annual Student Organizations Awards Ceremony at 6 p.m. April 26 in the Student Union Jordan Ballroom. The event is open to the public, but large groups are asked to RSVP by April 19 by calling (208) 426-1223. Free parking will be available in the Student Union Visitor Lot.

The evening’s awards include:

• The David S. Taylor Service to Students Award: Honoring the lifetime achievements of an outstanding Boise State administrator, faculty, adviser, alumni or employee who demonstrates ongoing commitment to the service of students, student learning outside the classroom and the quality of student life. Nominees must have at least five years of service or alumni status to be eligible.

• Marj Billings Award: Presented to a student who is always ready to assist others, even in the midst of his or her own turmoil; who is good-hearted, trustworthy and humble; who does not seek reward; is of high moral character and looks out for others.

• Outstanding Student Organization Awards: These awards are presented to organizations that have shown leadership and involvement in the community and at Boise State.

• Student Organization Adviser Award: Given to a person who has made it possible for student organizations to thrive.
