Boise State Sponsors Canada Week Events April 3-6
Boise State University’s Canadian Studies Program once again sponsors a week
of events aimed at better understanding of our neighbors to the north. The
fourth annual Canada Week, April 3-6, features lectures, a Canadian film
series, a book exhibit and panel discussions. Events are free and open to
the public unless otherwise noted.
The United States and Canada share the longest undefended border in the
world (5,500 miles). The Ambassador Bridge, which connects Detroit and
Windsor, Ontario, carries more trade each year than the total U.S. trade
with Japan, making Canada the United States’ top trading partner (and
Idaho’s No. 2 trading partner).
Highlights of the week include:
Throughout April
“O Canada: An Exhibit of Canadian Books.” Books by Canadian authors and on
Canadian topics will be on display in the windows outside of Special
Collections on the second floor of the Albertsons Library. Books
highlighting the carvings, prints and sculptures of Haida artist Robert
Davidson will be featured. (See April 4)
