Boise State Hosts Suicide Awareness Exhibition
Boise State University, in collaboration with the Suicide Prevention Action
Network of Idaho, presents “Contribution: Essence of Life,” April 19-May 10
in the Student Union Art Gallery, 7 a.m.-11 p.m. daily. The exhibition is
free and open to the public.
Idaho has one of the highest suicide rates in the country. Increased
community awareness and participation, along with adequate funding for
assistance programs, may prevent unnecessary suicide attempts. An integral
part of this effort, “Contribution: Essence of Life” is a juried art
exhibition designed to celebrate the value of life and the contribution each
individual gives to the community. The event includes works in all media,
including music, theater, literature, painting, illustration, sculpture and
photography.
An artists’ reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday, April 24, in the
Student Union Gallery.
