April 14-15 — Boise State Opera Theatre: Opera Theatre will present performances of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Menotti’s The Medium. Student Union Special Events Center. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 for seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.

April 15 — Flute Day: Competitions, performances and more highlight this daylong event. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Call 426-3980 for more information.

Early Music Ensemble

April 19 — Early Music Ensemble: This program by Boise State’s Academy of St. Giles early music ensemble will feature a French/Occitan program with music dating

from 1150 to 1650. The program will include troubadour songs, medieval dances, Franco-Flemish songs and lute duets. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.

April 22 — Spring Choral Concert: Enjoy this eclectic concert of world music and folk songs from around the globe, featuring five Boise State choirs and numerous instrumentalists. Immanuel Lutheran Church, 707 W. Fort. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.

April 23 — Symphonic Winds Concert: Featuring Symphony No. 2 by Frank Ticheli and music from Tielman Susato’s Danserye. Morrison Center Main Hall. 4 p.m. $5 general, $3 seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.

April 26 — Vocal Jazz Choir Solo Night: This event is a fundraiser for the choir. Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, 4903 Overland Road. 7 p.m. Cost TBA.

April 26 — Treasure Valley Concert Band: The band’s performance will feature xylophone soloist Kelley Smith and the bagpipes of the Boise Highlanders. Vallivue High School, 1407 Homedale Road, Caldwell. 7:30 p.m. Free.

April 27 — Boise State Tuba Ensemble and Idaho Tuba-Euphonium Society: The Boise State Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble performs music from Baroque to jazz on April 27. On April 29, the Tuba-Euphonium Mass Ensemble concert features more than 50 players. Featuring Boise State tuba professor Michael Fischer and University of Oregon tuba professor Michael Grose. April 27: Morrison Center Recital Hall, 7 p.m. April 29: South Junior High School Auditorium, 805 Shoshone. Free.

April 28 — Percussion Ensemble Concert: Featuring a three-movement piece based on the whole-tone scale made famous by Debussy; Kotrab, based on the snare drum solo that opens the slow movement of Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra; a surround-sound piece for three sets of drums and tomtoms, and a marimba ensemble, Parading Parrots. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.

April 29 — Meistersingers Spring Concert: The Meistersingers finishes its year with a celebration of diversity in a kaleidoscope of languages, including French, Finnish, Hebrew, Spanish, Mongolian and Tiriki. St. Michael’s Episcopal Cathedral, 518 N. 8th St. 7:30 p.m. $5 general, $3 seniors and free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.
