Boise State Names New Director for Health Policy Center
Boise State University has named Ed Baker director of the Center for Health
Policy. Currently an assistant professor of community and environmental
health, Baker has 20 years of experience in health care working with
hospitals, physicians, health care delivery systems and health care
suppliers. He is the lead evaluator for the Ada County Healthy Communities
Access Program federal grant and serves as a principal investigator for an
Idaho Medicaid grant focused on providing family planning and preventive
health care services to low-income women. Baker also works with the Idaho
Primary Care Association in developing disease management programs and in
creating new models to cover the uninsured
Baker earned a Ph.D. from Temple University and a master’s degree from the
University of Pittsburgh. His areas of interest include health care policy,
performance improvement and measurement, and managed care core competency
development.
