Celebrate Vietnamese Holiday During the Moon Festival at
Boise State University
Boise State University’s Vietnamese Student Association will host the annual
Moon Festival at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 in the Student Union Jordan Ballroom.
Tickets are $10 general, $5 for students with ID and free for children
younger than 6 through Select-a-Seat, (208) 426-1494. Doors open at 5:30
p.m.
The Moon Festival, or Têt-Trung-Thu, gives thanks for another successful
harvest season. In Vietnam, children parade through the streets, singing and
carrying colorful lanterns. The Moon Festival at Boise State will carry on
the festival’s tradition with a selection of Vietnamese dishes and moon
cakes, which are made of sticky rice.
The show at 6:30 p.m. will include traditional music and dances, including
the popular lion dance. For more information about the festival, contact Thu
Vo at thuvo@mail.boisestate.edu.
