Boise State Professor Del Parkinson Brings 'Fair-Feathered Friends' to Campus

Boise State University professor Del Parkinson will perform a piano recital at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and again at 4 p.m. Sept. 10 as part of the Faculty Artist Series. Both recitals will be in the Morrison Center Recital Hall. Admission is $5 general, $3 seniors and free to students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff.

The program, “Fair-Feathered Friends,” includes several references to birds. Selections will include the famous “Ritual Fire Dance” as well as pieces by Liszt and Ravel and Russian and Spanish composers.

Parkinson is a professor of piano at Boise State. He regularly performs as a soloist in many venues throughout the West. He appears on six CDs; his most recent, “A Celebration of Duo-Piano Music,” made with former Boise State colleague Madeleine Hsu Forte, was released this summer by Romeo Records.
