Boise State's Volunteer Services
Board Seeks Students for Spring Break Alternative Trip 2007
The Boise State University Volunteer Services Board is seeking students for the
Spring Break Alternative Trip, scheduled for March 23-April 1, 2007.
Applications are available at the Student Union Info Desk, and are due back to
the Info Desk by 5 p.m. Sept. 25. Orientation is at 5 p.m. Sept. 27 in the
Student Union Jordan A Ballroom.
The SBA Trip is a program that brings awareness and better understanding about
the complexity of social issues that communities face, such as poverty,
homelessness, hunger, the environment and youth education. Through volunteering
in another city, SBA Trip participants have the opportunity to develop lifelong
service-oriented habits while experiencing the diversity and culture of another
place.
During the orientation, students can hear from past SBA Trip participants,
brainstorm possible trip locations, learn the basics about the trip and get free
refreshments. The SBA Trip is sponsored by the Volunteer Services Board and is
funded entirely through fundraisers and donations from various businesses and
organizations in the community.
