Idaho Dance Theatre Announces Fall
Performance, 'Get Physical'
Idaho Dance Theatre, housed at Boise State University, will open its 18th season
with “Get Physical,” Nov. 2-5 at the Student Union Special Events Center.
Tickets are $22.50 general and $12 seniors and students through Select-a-Seat,
(208) 426-1494, or (208) 331-9592 for group sales. Performances are at 8 p.m.
Nov. 2-4 and 2 p.m. Nov. 5.
“Get Physical” features the premier of artistic director Marla Hansen’s newest
work, “Tenacious,” set to the complex music of the Balanescu Quartet.
“Tenacious” is set in four movements, an abstract tour de force that explores
sudden change. “Feet,” also choreographed by Hansen, is set to the music of St.
Germain and features the entire Idaho Dance Theatre company.
Artistic director Carl Rowe presents two dances, including his 1991 piece “A Day
on the Planet Lousadzak.” This high-spirited dance is accompanied by the music
of Alan Hovhaness of Seattle. Rowe also will premier a new, intensely personal
work, set to the music of Osvaldo Golijov.
