Boise State University to
Host Open House to Showcase College of Education Doctoral Program
People who are interested in earning a doctoral degree from the Boise State
University College of Education are invited to find out more about the program
at an open house from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Student Union Lookout Room.
Attendees will be able to meet alumni who have earned doctoral degrees as well
as professors from the program. In addition, they can find out how to apply for
the program; applications will be accepted through the middle of February for
summer enrollment.
The doctoral program in curriculum and instruction, leading to an Ed.D. degree,
is designed to develop graduates who will be effective leaders in educational
improvement. The course work provides students with a thorough understanding of
what schools are and can be, insights into the complexities of teaching and
learning, and collaborative opportunities to work towards making a measurable
and positive effect upon current education programs and student learning.
The program, which is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the first graduating
class, is the largest of its kind in Idaho. Graduates from Boise State’s program
currently hold state- and district-level leadership positions, are professors at
various universities and classroom teachers throughout the state and country.
