The Minneapolis Guitar Quartet, founded in 1986, is one of the world’s leading guitar ensembles. Members O. Nicholas Raths, Jeff Lambert, Joseph Hagedorn and Jeffrey Thygeson take their cues from the best chamber music and string quartet traditions and have toured extensively throughout the United States and the world. The quartet also hosts master classes and workshops and takes their program, “Guitar Talk,” to elementary and high school students.

They have two releases on the Albany label, “New Works for Guitar Quartet” and “Over Land and Sea,” as well as another album, “Pictures at an Exhibition,” on GSP Records.

The Classic Performances Series is presented by Boise State Student Activities. It brings world-class performers to the Boise State campus, and has included visits from the Cincinnati Percussion Group, Naoko Takada, the Florestan Trio and more. For more information, call Student Activities at (208) 426-1223.
