‘Boise Tuba Christmas’ Brings
Big Holiday Sounds Downtown
Boise Tuba Christmas, a unique holiday ensemble, will perform at two downtown
locations on Dec. 9. Tuba Christmas will perform at 3:30 p.m. at the Grove, near
the outdoor Christmas tree, and at 4:30 p.m. at the Statehouse Rotunda. Both
performances are free and open to the public.
Members of Tuba Christmas are baritone, euphonium, sousaphone and tuba players
of all ages and ability. They are from local high schools, as well as local band
directors, Boise State students and community members. Now in its 15th year in
Boise, Tuba Christmas has become an annual holiday tradition for the whole
family.
Tuba Christmas has been a tradition in many larger cities in the United States
since its first performance in New York in 1974. For the past 15 years, Boise
has been one of the few cities in the Northwest to present this unique concert.
