Auditions for "The Vagina Monologues"
Auditions for the 7th annual production of “The Vagina Monologues,” presented by
the Boise State Women’s Center, will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 1-2 in the
Special Events Center green room. The auditions are open to all female Boise
State students, faculty, alumni and volunteers. To register for an audition,
contact the Women’s Center at (208) 426-4259.
Candidates should prepare a one-minute monologue, either from “The Vagina
Monologues” or another popular play, to present during their audition. No acting
experience is required.
“The Vagina Monologues” will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 23-24 and 3 p.m. Feb. 25
at Boise State. The production is part of the V-day 2007 College Campaign, a
worldwide movement to stop sexual violence against women and girls. The play is
based on hundreds of interviews with a diverse group of women conducted by
playwright Eve Ensler, and uses their words to explore sexuality and body image.
The production will be directed by Melody Eisler, a Boise State alumna.
