BCS Selection Party this Sunday (Dec. 3) at Taco Bell Arena Moved Up to Start at 5:30 P.M.

Due to Fox Sports’ national broadcast of the Bowl Championship Series selection show on Sunday (Dec. 3), the Boise State University athletic department has moved the start of its free BCS selection celebration up one half-hour to 5:30 p.m. (MT) in Taco Bell Arena.

Fox Sports was scheduled to begin its broadcast of the BCS bowl selections at 6 p.m., but has now moved its broadcast start time to 5:50 p.m. Fox Sports is scheduled to go live with its national broadcast from Taco Bell Arena at approximately 5:55 p.m.

Bronco fans are encouraged to be at the arena by 5:30 p.m., as Fox Sports will be taping segments of the celebration to be used during the show. Doors will remain open following the Boise State/San Diego women’s basketball game, which starts at 2 p.m.

The selection show will be shown on the Bronco Vision screens in the arena. Bronco players and coaches will be in attendance as they await the official word on where and whom the team will play.

The Bronco football team is in position to be selected to participate in one of the five BCS bowl games after finishing the regular season with a perfect 12-0 record, its fifth Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship, and a current eighth place ranking in this week’s BCS standings.

A team from a non-BCS conference that wins its league title and ranks among the top 12 teams in the final BCS standings receives an automatic selection to a BCS bowl game. The games include the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, the Rose Bowl, the FedEx Orange Bowl, the Allstate Sugar Bowl and the Tostitos BCS National Championship game.

The Boise State Bookstore will set up a temporary Bronco Shop inside the arena to sell WAC Championship and BCS merchandise. Global Travel, the Broncos’ official travel partner, will also be on hand for BCS bowl travel information and reservations.

The celebration party will also include season highlights on Bronco Vision and a short program following the selection show, including comments from head coach Chris Petersen and the senior captains.
