Boise State Offers Free Cultural Competence Training for Registered Nurses

The Greater Awareness for Idaho Nurses (GAIN) grant program is currently registering nurses to participate in its final offering of the course “Caring for the Emerging Diverse Community: Cultural Competence in Nursing Practice.” The free continuing education course for registered nurses is hosted by Boise State University. Deadline for registration is Jan. 12; enrollment is limited.

The course explores the complexities of providing culturally competent care to clients and is intended to provide nurses with a solid foundation in cultural competency by presenting a broad base of knowledge and skills. Twenty ANCC-approved contact hours will be awarded at the completion of the course.

The course will be offered at Boise State University, Northwest Nazarene University,  Idaho State University, Lewis-Clark State College, North Idaho College, Brigham Young University-Idaho, College of Southern Idaho and Eastern Idaho Technical College. Statewide registration is centralized and will be handled through Boise State.
