Phi Kappa Phi Announces
Annual Writing Competition
The Boise State University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi has announced the annual
Wallace G. Kay-Phi Kappa Phi student writing competition. The award is named
after Wallace G. Kay, who was a professor of English and associate director of
the Honors Program until his death in September 1996. Phi Kappa Phi is an
interdisciplinary honor society that promotes superior scholarship.
In this spirit, Phi Kappa Phi solicits submissions of outstanding student papers
written for any Boise State course completed in the spring, summer or fall
semester of 2006. Winners will be selected by a panel of faculty evaluators
within each college and notified by mid-March. Student winners will be
recognized during the Phi Kappa Phi initiation ceremony on April 15, 2007, and
each winning paper will receive a $200 award.
Deadline for submission is Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007. Students may initiate the
process, but a Faculty Nomination Form must accompany submitted papers. Detailed
instructions and nomination forms are available at the Phi Kappa Phi Web site,
phikappaphi.boisestate.edu.
