Boise State Writing Project Hosts ISAT Workshop for Teachers

The Boise State University Writing Project will sponsor an Idaho Standardized Achievement Test Workshop for teachers from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Student Union Lookout Room. Participants are asked to attend even if they cannot arrive on time. Free parking will be available in the lot behind the Student Union.

The workshop will provide much needed information about what the new ISAT means for students, teachers and parents. The workshop will highlight the basic measurement principles that will allow educators to better understand the information they receive from the ISATs; a particular focus will be placed on the new state ISATs. The information will support educators so that they can interpret scores and communicate findings to not only parents, but also to fellow associates and administrators.

The event will be hosted by Roger Stewart of the College of Education and educator Shanna Liles. Liles is accepting RSVPs at s.k.liles@att.net.

The National Writing Project has long been regarded as the most influential and successful grassroots teaching initiative in the country. The Boise State Writing Project brings together educators in many different disciplines from throughout the state. During an intensive summer session, they write, discuss teaching methods and work on best practices and innovative methods.
