Boise State University's New
Textbook Library Receives 220 Donations
The Associated Students of Boise State’s Textbook Library is getting off to a
great second semester — 220 usable textbooks were donated during the last
semester and are now available to students.
The library, housed at Albertsons Library, is a resource for students who cannot
afford to pay for their own textbooks. ASBSU founded the library last semester
to help students who might find themselves in unfortunate circumstances and
unable to purchase their own textbooks.
All of the recently donated textbooks are currently required by faculty for the
spring semester. Faculty will be notified if the textbooks they are using are
available at the library. A list of available textbooks will soon be posted at
www.asbsu.org.
“The success of the program is threefold: the support of the Boise State
Bookstore, the support of Albertsons Library, and the support of students who
made donations last semester,” said Taylor Newbold, ASBSU’s secretary of public
relations and the coordinator of the library.
Donations are still welcome; faculty and students may donate new or old editions
of textbooks at any time of the school year, and there is no limit on donations.
The books are placed on reserve at the library and there is a time limit on how
long they may be checked out by students. A book may be donated by giving it to
the reserve section of the library; by bringing the textbook to ASBSU’s office
in the Student Union; or by arranging for a pick up.
To donate books or for questions, contact Newbold at (208) 426-1440 or
