Machine Tool Technology
Program Hosts Open House for Junior High, High School Students, Industry at
Boise State
The Machine Tool Technology Program, housed in the Larry G. Selland College of
Applied Technology at Boise State University, will host an open house from 4-8
p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13. The open house will give junior high and high school
students an up-close look at the program, as well as give technical centers and
local industry at look at new HAAS machining equipment.
Boise State’s Machine Tool Technology program partnered with the HAAS
manufacturer in July 2005 to become a HAAS Technical Education Center.
The agreement puts the latest HAAS equipment — equipment that is used in the
workplace — in front of students. It also allows for local industry to acquire
training for their employees on HAAS equipment at the site. There are a limited
number of certified HAAS Technical Education Centers in the country.
For more information about the program or the open house, call Dave Sperry,
program head of the Machine Tool Technology program, at 426-2541, or
