Boise State University Film Festival to Benefit from 'Dead Eight
Film Club Night with the Idaho Stampede'
The student-run Boise State University Dead Eight Film and Video Club, which
hosts the annual Boise State Film Festival, will benefit from ticket sales to an
upcoming Idaho Stampede game. “Dead Eight Film Club Night with the Idaho
Stampede” will be at 7 p.m. April 13 at Qwest Arena. Tickets are $10-$12 or
$36-$44 for packages of four; the tickets are offered at a steep discount and a
portion of each ticket will go back to the club.
The Dead Eight Film Club will raffle off tickets for prizes, including two trips
to the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in January — including ground transportation
from Boise State, five nights at a shared condo and three movie tickets each.
Other raffle prizes include three producerships to TVCTV, the community access
station, which will give the winners a chance to develop their own programs, as
well as Stampede tickets for next season.
The club is currently accepting entries for its annual festival, which will take
place on April 29 at the Student Union Special Events Center. Fiction and
documentary entries will be accepted in the junior high/high school,
college/amateur and professional categories. Entry fees are $10 for junior high
and high school students, $15 for college students and amateurs, and $25 for
professionals.
Entry forms may be picked up at the Boise State Department of Communication
office or downloaded at www.tvctvonline.org.
Entries will be judged by local media experts on the basis of concept, thematic
development, production quality, and overall impact of entry.
Now in its 12th year, the Boise State University Film Festival features an
eclectic mix of films from members of the community. The sponsoring
organization, Dead Eight Film and Video Club, gives students opportunities for
hands-on video production. For more information or for a sample of previous
years’ films, visit www.tvctvonline.org.
