Amy Ortmann Wins Associated Students of Boise State University
Presidency
The Associated Students of Boise State University announced the results of the
2007 election on Friday. Amy Ortmann and Evan “Swatch” Stein were elected
president and vice president, respectively, for the 2007-2008 academic year. The
results will be certified next week.
Ortmann and Stein received 567 votes, beating Britton Holdaway and Jennifer
Stolley, Peter Babichencko and Andrey Nosalskiy, Ryan Cooper and Bakh Mirkasimov,
and Lawrence “Bronco” Johnson and Tony Volponi.
In addition, at-large senators were elected: Jessica Martin, Evan Meriwether,
Ashley Callis, Brian Lawatch, Lacey Vander Boegh, Angelica Garcia and Gabe
Murphy.
The newly elected college senators are Nicole Ridgeway, College of Arts and
Sciences; Terry Hurless, College of Business and Economics; Caley Christian,
College of Education (registered write-in candidate); Mariah Fowler, College of
Engineering; Chadwick Davis, Graduate College; Cameron Wiemerslage, College of
Health Sciences; and Kayleigh Jack, College of Social Sciences and Public
Affairs. The Larry Selland College of Applied Technology did not put up a
senatorial candidate.
