Boise State's Red Circle Press Presents Bookmaking Workshop, Lecture with Bonnie Stahlecker

Boise State University’s Red Circle Press will present a bookmaking workshop and lecture with visiting artist Bonnie Stahlecker.

The workshop is from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 21-22 in Room 105 of the Public Affairs and Arts West Building (the old Campus School). Cost is $125 and the workshop is limited to 12 participants of all experience levels. To register, call 631-4536.

Stahlecker’s lecture is at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 in Room 118 of the Interactive Learning Center on the west end of campus, between the Multi-Purpose Classroom Building and the Math and Geosciences Building. The lecture is free.

Stahlecker’s books have been described as “image condensed as object.” Her work has been exhibited in numerous national and international exhibitions including “Built by Hand: The Book as Art,” in Washington, D.C., and “Suave Mechanicals: Early to Modern Binding Styles,” in Ann Arbor, Mich. Her work is in many publications, including “The Penland Book of Handmade Books.”
