Boise State University Theatre Arts Department Presents Neil
Simon's 'Barefoot in the Park'
Boise State University Department of Theatre Arts presents “Barefoot in the
Park” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3-6 and 10-13 and 2 p.m. Oct. 6-7 and 13-14 at the
Morrison Center Stage II. Tickets are $12 general, $10 for non-Boise State
students, Boise State alumni, military and seniors. Boise State students,
faculty and staff receive one free ticket, available at the Student Union
Info Desk.
“Barefoot in the Park” is Neil Simon’s classic comedy about young newlyweds
Corrie and Paul who are adjusting to married life — and each other — in a
six-story Manhattan walkup. Paul is a strait-laced attorney and Carrie is a
spontaneous free spirit, and the two must contend with a lack of heat, a
skylight with a gaping hole and eccentric neighbors.
Simon’s 1963 masterpiece, his first Broadway smash, was a valentine to his
wife, Joan, and to the joyful tribulations of being young, untried and
uninhibited in the big city. The Boise State production is directed by
Gordon Reinhart.
