Canadian Glaciologist to Speak at Boise State Nov. 5

5, at Boise State University. Jiskoot, a glaciologist, will speak on
environmental sustainability and the effects of climate change on glaciers
from 7-8:30 p.m. in Room 110 of the Engineering Technology Building. The
event is free and open to the public. Parking will be available in the
parking structure at the corner of Lincoln and University.
Jiskoot is an assistant professor of physical geography at the University of
Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada, with a background in physical geography and
glaciology. She also has studied how different cultures deal with
environmental sustainability and their perspective on the subject. Jiskoot
earned her Ph.D. in glaciology at the University of Leeds in England.

For the 10th time in the last 11 years, Boise State University has set an
all-time record for Idaho higher education institutions with an enrollment
of 19,540 – an overall increase of 3.5 percent. A record freshman class of
2,280 students is also the most academically talented group ever to enter
Boise State, including 12 National Merit finalists.
