New Director Set to Lead Idaho's Manufacturing Extension Center

Boise, ID – TechHelp, Idaho’s university-based affiliate of theManufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), announced today that Michael Wojcicki has been selected as the center’s new Executive Director. Wojcicki will assume his new position on Monday, October 15. He will be based at Boise State University and will report to Dianne Schooley-Pettis, Interim Dean of the BSU College of Business and Economics.

Wojcicki has held leadership positions in manufacturing extension, technology-based economic development and university partnerships for the past 14 years. “A few years back, I was president of the national association of MEP centers,” said Wojcicki. “During that time, I learned that TechHelp is one of the leading programs in the country, so it’s a real honor to be selected as its Executive Director.” “During the last fiscal year, TechHelp clients reported $65.6 million in positive economic impact and 724 jobs created or retained as direct results of their projects with us. That’s quite a return on the state’s investment,” continued Wojcicki.

“Mike’s familiarity with the MEP system and his experience managing university and industry alliances gives him an ideal background to lead TechHelp,” said interim Director, Dr. Larry Stauffer of the University of Idaho.

Before joining TechHelp, Wojcicki was the Director of Investor and Partner Relations at the Wisconsin MEP center, where he was responsible for government relations, grant development and partnerships with the state’s universities, technical colleges and local economic development organizations. Prior to that, he was President of the Modernization Forum – the national association of MEP centers – providing advocacy, research and training services to the system’s 59 MEP centers. Earlier, he was Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation – the state’s agency for technology-based economic development – where he managed research and commercialization investments, general operations, and funding for the state’s MEP center.

Wojcicki holds a B.A. from the University of Missouri and an M.P.A. from the University of Arizona.
