Boise Jazz Society Hosts 'One More Mile' CD Release Concert on Nov. 11

The Boise Jazz Society, an organization comprised of community members with the support of the Boise State University Department of Music, will hold a release party and concert for the CD “One More Mile” by the Brent Jensen-Bill Anschell Quartet. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Morrison Center Recital Hall and admission is free.

The Brent Jensen-Bill Anschell Quartet will play jazz standards and originals to celebrate the release of “One More Mile,” which will be released on Origin Records on Nov. 20. The quartet will play songs from the new album, which will be available for purchase. The Morrison Center Recital Hall will be set up in a nightclub format, with some seating onstage next to the band.

Sponsored by the Boise Jazz Society, this concert is the first in a series of free community presentations featuring live jazz artists of international stature and is designed to enhance the society’s jazz concert subscription series. Upcoming concerts in the subscription series include the Hoenig-Pilc Project on Feb. 3 and the Theo Saunders Quartet on April 27.

The concert is supported by the Boise State Department of Music and underwritten by Jim DeBlasio.

The Boise Jazz Society is dedicated to raising awareness of jazz as art music; promoting live jazz performance; sponsoring jazz subscription-series concerts presented in an intimate, jazz-club environment; enhancing educational opportunities by producing a series of lectures, workshops and master classes; and providing information to the community on local and regional jazz activities.
