EXHIBITION:
Through Dec. 12. “Hammered: Contemporary Ideas in Art Metal Design.”
Student Union Gallery. This exhibition celebrates the multiple talents of

Veterans Day. University in session.
Flag Ceremony. Quad. 12:30 p.m. ROTC cadets will lower and then raise
the flag, followed by the National Anthem. Armored Humvee and equipment
displayed on Quad, with yellow ribbons handed out by the Marines. Call

“Service to Country.” Special Events Center. 5-6 p.m. A keynote
speech will be given by Brigadier General Alan Gayhart. Posting of the
Colors, color guard, military quintet and POW/MIA ceremony, followed by a

“Modelling Bacterial Outer Membranes and Their Interactions with the
Outside World.” Multipurpose Building Room 207. Canadian biophysicist

Chainsaw Juggling Mad Chad. Hatch Ballroom. 7-8 p.m. A juggler and
risk-taker from age 13, Mad Chad has juggled it all. Mad Chad has appeared
on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Last Call with Carson Daily” and even
“The Donny and Marie Show.” Mad Chad puts on a wild show that is bone

“An Unreasonable Man.” Lookout Room. 5:30 p.m. Ralph Nader tells the
story of the consumer advocate who has built an impressive legislative
record. Yet today, many consider him an egomaniac and presidential
“spoiler.” “An Unreasonable Man” takes an unsparing look at one of the most
important and controversial political figures of our time. Following the
screening in Boise, Ross Burkhart, chair of the Department of Political
Science, will engage the public in a democracy forum to explore the pros and

relaxing effects of an oxygen bar can be mesmerizing. The bar comes with

“Tinta Roja.” Cultural Center. 6:30 p.m. This film has won seven
awards and two nominations. Two interns find themselves thrown into a
Peruvian newspaper whose goal is to entertain its readers by presenting the
story in a way that they feel lucky to be alive. Presented as part of the

GIS Day. Interactive Learning Center, Second Floor. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Boise State hosts ADA county GIS day. The annual event is held in
conjunction with National GIS day and Geography Awareness Week. This year’s
theme is “A World Without Boundaries.” Scott Dorval, chief meteorologist for
KIVI-TV, CH. 6, will deliver the keynote address at 11:40 a.m. in the ILC’s
main floor auditorium. Several live demonstrations and activities will show
how GIS technology is used in activities such as parcel mapping, mosquito
abatement, crime analysis, transportation routing, and more. For more

Thursday, Nov. 15
Free Movie, “Sicko.” Lookout Room. 7 p.m. In conjunction with health
week, Student Programs Board is showing Michael Moore’s “Sicko.” This
documentary brings to light our health-care system and its consequences.
Michael Moore adds his sarcastic wit to ease the journey of exploring our
health-care system, while highlighting other countries’ health-care systems.

International Connections. Student Union Lookout Room. The
international Connections Brown Bag Luncheon Series continues with a
presentation by Corrine Henke from the International Programs Office. “Tales
from the Middle Seat: Tips for Novice Travelers” features Henke’s thoughts
and experiences gained from traveling the world for business and pleasure.
She will give travel tips, ideas for better packing, and advice on how to
blend in with the locals. She’ll also distribute travel resources, packing

“You Can’t Take It With You.” Student Union Special Events Center. 2
p.m. and 7:30 p.m. “You Can’t Take It With You” opened in New York in 1936
to instant critical and popular acclaim. Kaufman and Hart fill the stage

“Balls of Fury.” Special Events Center. 7 p.m. The game is ping pong,
and no one is better than ex-professional Randy Daytona. Randy is on a
mission to avenge his father. To do this, he enters an underground ping pong
tournament run by his father’s killer. Randy gains many friends and they all
work together to take down this ruthless man. This movie is rated PG-13 for

For the 10th time in the last year 11 years, Boise State University has
set an all-time record for Idaho higher education institutions with an
enrollment of 19,540 – an overall increase of 3.5 percent. A record freshman
class of 2,280 students is also the most academically talented group ever to
