Interactive Learning Center
Boise State University’s Department of Geosciences and its Geospatial
Research Facility will host Ada County GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
Day events on Nov. 14 in the university’s new Interactive Learning Center.
The annual event is held in conjunction with National GIS Day and Geography
Awareness Week activities across the country. This year’s event theme is “A
World Without Boundaries,” and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second
floor of the ILC. It is open to the public free of charge.
Scott Dorval, chief meteorologist for KIVI-TV, Ch. 6, will deliver the
keynote address at 11:40 a.m. in the ILC’s main floor auditorium. Several
live demonstrations and activities will show how GIS technology is used in

Ada County GIS Day is coordinated by a group of public and private GIS
