This Week at Boise State
The following are upcoming events at Boise State University for the week of

EXHIBITION:
Through Dec. 12. “Hammered: Contemporary Ideas in Art Metal Design.”
Student Union Gallery. This exhibition celebrates the multiple talents of
student artists in the Boise State Art Metals Club. Reception from 6-8 p.m.

Mannheim Steamroller. Taco Bell Arena. 7:30 p.m. Mannheim Steamroller
is best known for its classic arrangements of “Silent Night,” “Deck the

Wednesday, Nov. 21
“The Syrian Bride.” The movie focuses on an Israeli woman who is
engaged to marry a Syrian television star whom she has never met. She is
faced with making a choice between leaving her home forever or going to
Syria to be married. This film has been described as one of the best films
made in Israeli cinema in 2004. Free. For more information, call 426-5950.
Thursday, Nov. 22
“Balls of Fury.” Special Events Center. 7 p.m. The game is ping pong,
and no one is better than ex-professional Randy Daytona. Randy is on a
mission to avenge his father. To do this, he enters an underground ping pong
tournament run by his father’s killer. Randy gains many friends and they all
work together to take down this ruthless man. This movie is rated PG-13 for
crude and sex-related humor, and for language. Free. For more information,

Monday, Nov. 26
BSU Guitar Ensembles. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. The
Boise State University Guitar Ensembles present guitar quartets and solos by
Ravel, Scarlatti, Bach, Sor and more. $5 general, $3 seniors, free for
students of all ages and Boise State Faculty and staff. For more

Billy Joel. Taco Bell Arena. 8 p.m. After successfully launching a
worldwide tour in 2006, where he played many packed and sold out shows,
causing record-breaking attendance. Joel comes to the Taco Bell Arena to

Wednesday, Nov. 28
“Goal Dreams.” Student Union Forum. This film is a documentary
about members of a soccer team united by their country’s desire to have them
represent the country on its football team. Free. For more information, call

Thursday, Nov. 29
Academy of St. Giles. Morrison Center Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. The
Academy of St. Giles presents music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance,
featuring music of Spain and Denmark. $5 general, $3 seniors, free for
students of all ages and Boise State faculty and staff. For more

“Good Luck Chuck.” Special Events Center. 7 p.m. In this romantic
comedy coming just before Dane Cook’s big performance at the Taco Bell
Arena, Chuck (played by Cook) doesn’t have a problem getting women. It’s
keeping them that is the problem. Chuck is cursed with an unusual problem.
When he sleeps with a woman, the next man that she meets will be her true
love. When Chuck finds himself falling in love, he has to find a way to
break the curse. Rated R for sequences of strong sexual content including
crude dialogue, nudity, language and some drug use. Free; free popcorn and

Friday, Nov. 30
Tori Amos. Morrison Center. 7:30 p.m. Tori Amos is one of the most
creative singer/songwriters of our time. Tickets are $39.50 by calling

Percussion Ensemble Concert. Morrison Center Room B125. 7:30 p.m. the
program will feature “Ku-Ka-llimoku,” a dance for the Hawaiian god of war,
“Afro-Amero,” melodies and rhythms in African and Americanized versions; and
“Metalwood,” a work featuring instruments made of metal and wood. $5
general, $3 seniors, free for students of all ages and Boise State faculty

Cook is known for his unique brand of observational comedy, making

For the 10th time in the last year 11 years, Boise State University has
set an all-time record for Idaho higher education institutions with an
enrollment of 19,540 – an overall increase of 3.5 percent. A record freshman
class of 2,280 students is also the most academically talented group ever to
enter Boise State, including 12 National Merit finalists.
