How is Idaho’s education system keeping up? As more and more classrooms use the Internet and technology, a Virtual Forum hosted by Boise State University and the Idaho Charter School Network explores why virtual education is the way of the future and how Idaho schools are tackling this new frontier. The event tonight will feature: • Opening remarks by Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna • Keynote address by John Watson, founder of Evergreen Consulting Associates, which focuses on K-12 online education and virtual schools. • A panel, “What Does the Future of eLearning in Idaho Look Like?” Panelists include Shirley Rau, school choice coordinator for the Idaho State Department of Education, Lisa Dawley of Boise State’s Department of Educational Technology, and lawmakers. The event is free and open to the public.
