Approximately 250 students from Boise State’s TRIO Pre-College Programs, Sigma Lambda Beta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Boise State Service-Learning will be on hand for tomorrow’s Rake Up Boise event — the largest volunteer group at the event, according to the Neighborhood Housing Association.

For the students in Boise State’s TRIO Pre-College Programs, Rake Up Boise provides an early opportunity to learn how to give back to the community. TRIO students are in the 7th-12th grades; in order to qualify for the program, they have to come from a limited income background and be from the first generation in the family to attend college. TRIO programs provide service to 1,625 students at 22 schools.

Interviewing the participating students could provide a great angle for your coverage of this annual event. For more information, call Tia Short at 890-9441 or Julie Bu at 863-9520.
