The university has improved its academic and social environment with the addition of several important buildings in the past two years. The completed projects include:

  • Harry W. Morrison Civil Engineering Building and Micron Engineering Center classrooms, laboratories and offices for engineering programs.
  • Parking Structure I located near Morrison Center, accommodates 650 vehicles.
  • Extended Studies Building offices for evening, summer session and other Extended Studies programs.
  • Alumni Center former optical center on University Drive renovated for use by Alumni Office and Career Center.
  • Center for Horticulture Technology new greenhouses and other facilities for horticulture program.

Several other projects are under construction or in the planning stages:

  • Boise State West infrastructure construction in progress and planning under way for first buildings.
  • Steve Appleton Outdoor Tennis Complex six outdoor tennis courts and stadium seating for 1,200 spectators.
  • Student Recreation Center courts, weight rooms, exercise rooms and other facilities.
  • Langroise House restoration of the historic home on Warm Springs Avenue into a presidents residence.

In addition, the university also added the Gateway Center for student advising programs and a sculpture to memorialize the late Janet Hay; made improvements to the Bob Gibb Friendship Bridge and Greenbelt; restored Christ Chapel; added a research greenhouse for biology programs; converted a medical clinic into the Bronco Football Center; and built new soccer fields.

Three Boise State buildings received awards from Intermountain Contractor magazine: the Allen Noble Hall of Fame for most outstanding small public project in 1998, the Micron Engineering Center for best public project in 2000 and Parking Structure I for best concrete structure in 2000.
