Professors Of The Year
For four consecutive years, Boise State faculty members have been named Idaho�s Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. All four exemplify a commitment to their students, their academic discipline and their community. They include:
John Freemuth (2001), political science, who is a specialist in resource management policy. He is a senior fellow for the Cecil Andrus Center for Public Policy and is chair of the science advisory board of the Bureau of Land Management.
Russ Centanni, (2000), biology, who has lectured statewide to inform the public about AIDS and its prevention. A microbiologist, Centanni is past president and a current trustee of the Idaho Academy of Science.
Pam Gehrke, (1999) nursing, who guided her students in many community health projects such as asthma detection in children, teen suicide awareness and prevention, the reduction of firearms among children and the need for immunization.
Stephanie Witt, (1998) political science, who is also a leader in the Red Cross disaster services. Witt currently serves as associate vice president for academic affairs.
