A bowl of Kellogg’s cereal will be donated to the Idaho Foodbank for every bowl of Kellogg’s cereal purchased on campus from Sept. 1-Oct. 30, 2011. An estimated 6,400 servings of cereal are expected to be donated.

According to the Idaho Foodbank, nearly 14 percent of Idaho residents live in poverty. In 2010, the Foodbank distributed 6.95 million meals to individuals and families in need. This effort will help those in need and provide students with an opportunity to help support this important cause.

“Kellogg has supported food banks across the U.S. for nearly 30 years. On average, the company donates $20 million of products annually,” said Tim Knowlton, vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility for Kellogg Company. “Our partnership with Boise State University and the Idaho Foodbank is an example of our continued commitment to helping those challenged in these economic times.”
