The School of Social Work Child Welfare Center welcomes more than 50 professional child welfare trainers from around the country for a dynamic three-day conference in the Interactive Learning Center beginning today.

The West Coast Child Welfare Trainer’s Conference is a forum for child welfare trainers of all skill levels to exchange ideas, improve skills and support each other in the effort to improve the care that families receive from the staff they train. The conference focus is on participants learning from each other, where presenters and facilitators provide innovative ideas, learning strategies and instructional tools for all to consider and use.

As host for this conference, the Child Welfare Center and Academic Technologies staffs are presenting seven of the 18 workshops offered.
