Opt In is a phone and text-based system that allows the university to notify students, faculty and staff immediately when an emergency is taking place on or near campus. But in order to get those messages, no matter where you are, on or off campus, you must register your personal contact information. Otherwise, emergency messages are only directed to your Boise State office phone and e-mail.
This system will only be used in critical situations with potential to affect your health or safety and your personal contact information, such as your cell phone, home phone or home e-mail, will never be shared or used for any other communication purposes.
Registering is easy, just sign in to BroncoWeb and look for the Opt In button. More information is available online.
