Faculty Forums to Focus on Core Curriculum

By: Kathleen Tuck   Published 4:19 pm / September 1, 2009

In the coming weeks, faculty are invited to participate in several core reform discussions. The Core Reform Task Force has researched current limitations to Boise State’s core and national best practices. You can find these on the Core Web site.

The first discussion will focus on the intended learning outcomes with subsequent forums focused on the structure of the core. The task force is enthusiastic about the framework developed and looks forward to the shape and detail the university community will bring.

The forums are:

  • Learning Outcomes: 12:40-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept, 2, CTL
  • Learning Outcomes: 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, ILC
  • Structure: 1:40-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, CTL
  • Structure: 1:40-2:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, CTL

Additional forums will be held on Oct. 14 and 15, facilitated by Dr. Terry Rhodes, vice president of the Office of Quality, Curriculum and Assessment at the Association of American Colleges and Universities. More details to follow.
