The Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES), in which Boise State is a partner, is joining the ATR National Scientific User Facility to host a discussion on probabilistic risk analysis (PRA) led by Ali Mosleh. The free discussion is from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, in Room 210 of SMITC on the Boise State campus. It will be followed by a short social event.
Mosleh is the director of the University of Maryland’s Center for Risk and Reliability. His talk, titled “Emerging Risk Methods for Managing Complex Technical Systems,” will provide an assessment of the state of the art in PRA. It also will cover views on the direction the discipline should take and key emerging methods and research needs in the context of design and operation of nuclear technologies.
CAES is a partnership among Idaho’s public universities and the Idaho National Laboratory. For more information on the center or the colloquia, contact Kortny Rolston at (208) 526-0962 or email@example.com.
