The Office of Information Technology, College of Business and Economics and College of Engineering are hosting the inaugural Bronco App-athon 2012 March 2-4 at the Interactive Learning Center on the Boise State campus.
Student programmers, designers, developers and entrepreneurs are invited to participate in the weekend app-athon and work in teams to create mobile or web software applications called apps. Submitted apps will be judged by a panel of entrepreneurs and industry experts, with prizes awarded to the winning teams for the best apps.
All full- or part-time college students are eligible. Registration deadline is Feb. 29 on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of entries is limited. To sign up, go to http://oit.boisestate.edu/appathon/ or email BroncoAppfirstname.lastname@example.org.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks will be be provided to participants. The teams do not have to be present the entire time of the Bronco App-athon, but all the coding and work must be done at the site of the competition.
The event begins at 4 p.m. March 2 with a keynote presentation and several tech talks on various development topics. The competition begins at 6 p.m. and ends at noon March 4, followed by judging and demonstrations from 1-4 p.m.
