OIT Report on April 3 Telephone Service Interruption

By: Shad Jessen   Published 7:43 am / April 4, 2012

The Boise State University campus telephone system experienced a service interruption Tuesday afternoon, April 3, due to failure of equipment maintained by Time Warner Telecom. The interruption prevented calls to both on- and off-campus phone numbers.

In addition, as many campus computers are connected to desktop phones, the incident caused widespread network connectivity issues.

Time Warner Telecom engineers arrived onsite early Tuesday evening, and campus telephone service was restored by 6 p.m.
