The 68,000-square foot facility will be located in a grass area at the north end of Bronco Stadium. Construction begins immediately with a target date of June 30, 2013 for completion.
This state-of-the-art, two story building will include coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, recruiting and players’ lounges, academic center, weight room, athletic training room, equipment room, and a locker room for the Bronco team.
The football complex is one of three construction projects currently underway involving intercollegiate athletics at Boise State.
This past fall construction began on Dona Larsen Park located at the former East Junior High School site between Broadway and Warm Springs avenues. This $6 million project will include a combined Boise State track and field complex and football stadium for Boise’s public schools, and a new competition field for the Bronco softball team. Completion is expected this August.
Earlier this month Boise State began construction on expanding the bleacher sections at Bronco Stadium. New permanent steel bleachers are being built in the north and south end zones which will increase the seating capacity to 37,000. The north end will have seating for 3,750, while the south end zone seating will hold 5,000. This $3.1 million project will be completed in July of this year.
