Lynda Ransdell Reception is Dec. 13

A farewell reception for Lynda Ransdell is from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in the Student Union Barnwell Room.

A professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Ransdell has been selected as the new dean of Montana State University’s College of Education, Health and Human Development, effective January 2013.

Ransdell came to Boise State from the University of Utah in 2004 and served as chair of the Department of Kinesiology until 2008. Since then her focus has been on teaching, researching and writing about active and athletic women, physical activity interventions and other topics in health promotion and exercise science. She currently serves as the university’s Faculty Ombuds. She has published more than 85 articles, several book chapters, and three books, and currently is serving as president of the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport.
